American Express (New York; 37.8 million cards) is running a sweeps on AOL with the chance to win one year of coffee, an espresso machine, or a tumbler from Starbucks. The arrangement is a cross promotion. Visitors to Starbucks AOL site are informed that they are automatically entered into the sweeps if they use their AMEX card for a purchase, and a link to AMEX is provided. Conversely, AMEX provides a link to Starbucks on its site (lower RH corner in screenshot above). This is a good example of a joint marketing effort that is win-win and simple to accomplish online.
