· Forrester surveyed 100,000 American and Canadian members of NPD’s consumer mail panel; data was weighted to demographically represent the North American population; high-income consumers were oversampled in 50% of the sample; fielded late Nov. 98 to early Jan. 99; accurate to +/-1%.

· Forrester surveyed 10,000 American and Canadian members of Greenfield Online’s panel; surveys were administered online; fielded from late Dec. 1998 through mid-Jan. 1999; data weighted to Georgia Tech’s U. S. online demographic data, as well as Forrester Research’s Canadian on-line demographic data and online experience data; accurate to +/-2%.
