Digital Employees’ FCU (Maynard, MA; $480 million; 74,000 members) launched free dial-up PC banking in Q1 1996. Sixteen months later the credit union has signed up 25% of its member base for the service which runs on CFI’s Personal Branch. In June, an Internet-based option, Internet PC Branch from Virtual Financial Services (Indianapolis, IN), was added to its lineup. Virtual Financial Services has six credit unions online. A demo of the Web banking program is available on its Web, www.vifi.com.
