Financial Institution Milestones -- First State Bank's No Fluff Account Access

By Jim Bruene on May 23, 1997 10:02 AM | Comments (0)

First State Bank (Albany, GA)
www.fsbt.com

First State’s utilitarian Web provides account access and interactivity with no fluff.

Here is an interesting approach. First State Bank’s (Albany, GA; $325 million) Web includes just four areas:
  • Online Banking: loan, checking, & saving account info
  • Online Stock Markets: links to other quote servers
  • Credit Card Application
  • Loan Application

Here is the antithesis of the typical glossy brochureware site, albeit a tad overboard in the other direction. You need to provide some information about your company, branch locations, product line, etc. But overall, this site works better than most, even compared to some banks with a few hundred billion more in assets that First State. It serves up account data and sells loans. Not a bad combination for a financial institution. Web site and online services provided by BankPC Software, Inc. and Spectrum Sciences & Software, Inc.
