Holiday Greetings in a Wired Age

By Jim Bruene on December 20, 1997 4:11 PM | Comments (0)

Next year, send your online users a holiday greeting via HTML e-mail. This one is from InfoBeat www.infobeat.com , an e-mail based news and stock information service with more than 2 million subscribers.

The graphics are in green and red with an animated cardinal that flits across the top of the image every 10 seconds or so. And the whole e-mail is only 22k, so even your 14.4 modem customers won’t complain. Users will need a newer e-mail program to see the graphics, such as Netscape 3 or higher or Internet Explorer 4, so make sure you imbed a text message as well. In August, American Express participated in a $7.5 million round of equity financing, becoming a minority owner of InfoBeat.
