MidFirst’s Web celebrates the grand opening of its newest branch complete with Computer Café.

MidFirst Bank (Oklahoma City, OK; $2.8 billion) became the second bank in the country to open a cybercafe/bank branch. The merchandising mastermind behind MidFirst’s new Norman, OK, branch is Charlene Stern, who pioneered the cybercafé concept for South Umpqua State Bank (South Umpqua, OR; $200 million), which now has five branches using the novel retailing approach. Students and faculty from nearby Oklahoma University belly up to the bank’s bar and sip bank-branded coffee or Dr. Pepper while accessing their accounts online.

MidFirst’s Community Calendar is loaded with events.

Mid-First also sports a Community Calendar that is actually kept up-to-date. The September calendar (the current month automatically loads first) had more than 50 events listed. Users can use drop-down boxes to select just the events in their local area.

Contacts: Charlene Stern is Principal of Stern Marketing Group, 510.549.8870, sternmkt@ix.netcom.com .
