Based in New York City, Solspark (formerly NetGenCard) was founded in May 1999 and is targeting the P2P and stored value market. Its backers include Sony Music Entertainment, Starwood Capital, The Cisneros Group, and angel investors.

The company’s advisory board is impressive, including: Pete Hart, former CEO of MasterCard and Advanta; Bill Stewart, former CEO of eVISA; Jeffrey Chittenden, CIO of Juniper Bank and former EVP Technology & Operations for First USA Bank, and Chief Architect at JP Morgan; Michael Goff, co-founder and CEO of the acceleratorgroup, former head of MSN Programming and Technologies; Richard Kirshenbaum, Founder and CEO of kirshenbaum bond & partners; Saul Klein, a founding member of TrustE and former Microsoft exec.
